Ainsley de­lighted to re­turn

NEW coun­cil­lor for Tyther­ing­ton Ainsley Arnold has said he is ‘hon­oured’ to have been elected again.

Coun Arnold, who lives on Cum­ber­land Street, has been a res­i­dent in the area with his fam­ily for more than 38 years and rep­re­sented res­i­dents as a coun­cil­lor on both Macclesfield Bor­ough Coun­cil and Cheshire East Coun­cil for 15 years from 1996 to 2011.

He has worked with nu­mer­ous lo­cal or­gan­i­sa­tions over his many years of public ser­vice. He is a mem­ber of the ex­ec­u­tive of the Com­mu­nity Trans­port / Dial A Ride or­gan­i­sa­tion, a direc­tor of Macclesfield Silk Mu­seum and a for­mer long-stand­ing gover­nor of Bollinbrook School.

He was also vice chair­man of Cheshire Po­lice Author­ity af­ter join­ing in 2009.

For his var­i­ous ser­vices to the com­mu­nity, Coun Arnold was made an Hon­orary Al­der­man of Cheshire East in 2011 and is cur­rently a gover­nor at the Fal­li­b­roome Academy.

He said: “I am hon­oured to have been elected to rep­re­sent the Tyther­ing­ton Ward. “Be­fore the last bound­ary changes I rep­re­sented a large area of this ward for 15 years, and I look for­ward to once again work­ing hard for lo­cal res­i­dents to en­sure our area is im­proved for all.”

Also elected for Tyther­ing­ton was Coun Sam Gard­ner.
