KERRIDGE CC GEOFF ALLEN WESTMINSTER PARK 2 ..................... 177-8 KERRIDGE ................ 73-7

AFTER an enforced week off Kerridge headed for Chester only to be met with a serious accident on the M56 which delayed arrival and a late start to the game and two players who didn’t make it at all.

Park elected to bat and with gaps in the field runs flowed as the home side scored at will and it was a long 45 overs chasing for the visitors. Josh Capper (3-32), plus a couple of run outs and single wickets from Carl Ryder and the Banks brothers, were the only highlights.

When Kerridge batted the day simply got worse with only Neil Banks and Steve Regan showing any resistence to the home attack.

The day simply disintegrated for the visitors when Carl Ryder was struck in the eye off a thick edge which meant that he had to leave the park for treatment and hospital check and that meant the end of the game.

With two home matches to look forward to, hopefully winning ways can be resumed on Saturday when Knutsford visit Clarke Lane.

The game starts at 1.30pm.
