Park party to feature 60 years of music

-

TICKETS are selling fast for this Saturday’s Party in the Park.

One of the highlights in Poynton’s social calendar, the event is organised by the Rotary club.

Last year it raised more than £15,000 for charity and organisers hope to beat that amount.

There will be a full programme of music from the last 60 years to keep visitors of all ages occupied including The Screaming Beavers, Monkey Harris, Under the Covers, Leroy Lurve Entertainer Extraordinaire, and the Vernon Building Society Poynton Brass Band.

The event takes place at Poynton Park off South Park Drive on Saturday, June 13 from 3pm until late.

Garth Aspinall from the Rotary Club said: “The occasion is truly magical and I would encourage everyone to come along and experience the expectant build-up, the fantastic programme of live music, the dancing in the park, the freshness and freedom of a lovely summer’s evening, the laughter of picnic parties, children giddy with excitement, gazebos full of chatter and, maybe, some surprise encounters with bygone neighbours or friends. The party has it all.”

Ticket prices are £55 for a family ticket of two adults and two children, £20 for adults and £10 for children under 16. Under fives go free.

Visitors are also welcome to bring their own gazebo. Prices are between £20 and £40 depending on size.

There are also corporate packages at £275 which include 15 tickets, a gazebo plot and an advert in the concert programme.
