Crown­ing day nears for rose fete roy­alty

CHIL­DREN in Bosley are pre­par­ing for their roles in this year’s Rose Queen Fete.

Francesca Bet­tany and Sam Brunt will be crowned as queen and king, and there will be parts to play for all chil­dren in the pa­rade such as crown bear­ers, trum­peters, sword bear­ers, drum­mers and flower girls. The event takes place on Satur­day, June 20 at 2pm.

Once again the fell race will set off just af­ter the open­ing cer­e­mony, while visi­tors can en­joy the fun of the fete, which fea­tures a rodeo bull, coun­try danc­ing, a bouncy castle and Shet­land ponies.

The race will start and fin­ish at Bosley St Mary’s Pri­mary School and be­gins at 3.15pm. There is a ju­nior race of 3km for ages 10 to 15 which be­gins at 3.05pm. Go to bosleyvil­lage.org.uk.
