CHESHIRE Fire and Rescue Service has been shortlisted as Fire Service of the Year in the Fire Fighters Charity Spirit of Fire Awards.
Chief Fire Officer Paul Hancock said he was delighted the service had been shortlisted.
“To be recognised and acknowledged by our peers is a testament to the Team Cheshire ethos demonstrated by all our staff” he said.
“I am particularly pleased with the nominations for Chris Johnston and Lucas Cooper who showed tremendous bravery in saving the life of Florence Millichap.”
Two members of the public, Chris Johnston from Liverpool and Lucas Cooper from Ellesmere Port, were nominated by the Service and have also been shortlisted in the Adult Hero category after saving the life of a 94-yearold woman from a fire. The winners will be announced in October at a ceremony in London.
