Youngsters Cre8 a festival spectacle
YOUNG people from Cre8 youth group are hosting a week of events as part of a festival.
They are holding their third festival, with events all week at venues on The Moss which include storytelling sessions, a ceilidh and a barbecue.
It’s another boost to the charity which has just won a Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service to recognise the good work of its volunteers.
Rob Wardle, director, said: “The festival shows what young people and the community have been doing on The Moss. Cre8 is about young people doing something in their own community for the benefit of each other.
“It’s about people coming together to make change happen in their community.”
The group is holding lunches at St Barnabas Church, at 12.30pm each day until Friday, and a story telling event tomorrow (Thursday) at 7pm at the Cre8 building, Mayfield Terrace, with the theme ‘home’. Anyone interested in telling a story can contact Cre8.
The ceilidh is at St Barnabas at 7pm tonight (Wednesday) and the barbecue with music, presentations from young people and an auction is on Friday, 6pm, also at the church.
