●● LOTS of you have been debating what should happen to the King’s School on Cumberland Street after the school relocates to Prestbury.
Clare Gresty: Think it should remain as King’s School as it has been for many, many years.
Pete Banks: All the buildings aren’t all old but the main building and the old library should be retained, perhaps as apartments.
The gates should be moved as they are. They were designed by a well known Macclesfield artist, R A Riseley.
Clint Chapman: Retirement village.
Joe Biggar: Cheap one at that to??
Mark Beresford: A bit presumptuous to assume they will get planning permission on a green belt site at Prestbury....
Ben Sanderson: Rave venue.
Eunice Handforth: Very busy esp at school times....
Kate Gordon: Hate accidents, always think about the people involved. You never get to find out how they get on, especially if you have held a hand or tried to reassure someone.
Sian Hussey: I hope those involved are OK. That junction is horrible and is really difficult to see oncoming traffic at times. Should really be a four-way set of lights triggered by motion sensors. ●● OLD Macclesfield gasworks could be demolished to make site safe and clear way for redevelopment (website)
Wendy Chinery: lt is such an ugly site and awful outlook for those living in close proximity to it.
Demolish it and redevelop the area.
Kate Vaughan Hill: My concern would be that Black Lane cannot withstand more traffic if it was to be turned into a commercial area.
Mark Clowes: Tear the whole site down, and build some affordable housing on it
To be honest they weren’t my happiest days at King’s... Should turn it into an old people’s home or a Tesco.
A multi screen cinema. ●● This summery image was posted on our Flickr page by Irene Lea. Upload your images to www.flickr.com/groups/maccpics or email them to email@example.com. We’ll print the best ones
