July 2014 – Con­cerns grow over fu­ture of Hollins View as coun­cil an­nounces plan to trans­fer de­men­tia care to the ‘in­de­pen­dent sec­tor’

Au­gust 2014 – Coun­cil launches for­mal con­sul­ta­tion over the plans

Septem­ber 2014 – Calls are made for Cheshire East Coun­cil to hold a public meet­ing on its planned changes to care in Mac­cles­field and a pe­ti­tion is launched to keep Hollins View open

Oc­to­ber 2014 – The Ex­press launches its Hands off Hollins View cam­paign

De­cem­ber 2014 – Cheshire East an­nounces Hollins View will re­main open for a year, while it ‘ex­plores op­tions with al­ter­na­tive part­ners’

Jan­uary 2015 – The cam­paign group vows to keep up its fight and con­tacted coun­cil­lors and health bosses to boost the cam­paign

March 2015 – East Cheshire NHS Trust said it would no longer op­er­ate in­ter­me­di­ate care beds at Hollins View from the end of the March

April 2015 – East Cheshire NHS Trust made a u-turn and de­cided to keep in­ter­me­di­ate care beds open un­til the end of July

June 2015 – Of­fi­cers rec­om­mend the coun­cil’s rul­ing cab­i­net mem­bers vote to stop respite care at Hollins View from De­cem­ber 31.
