●● THE next Prest­bury Sun­day Teas event will be on Sun­day, June 28 at Prest­bury Vil­lage Hall.

The events, which are hosted by St Peter’s Church in Prest­bury, are held ev­ery Sun­day af­ter­noon un­til Septem­ber 27 and are held to raise funds for var­i­ous char­i­ties and groups who pro­vide home­made cakes and scones.

The events take place from 3pm to 5.30pm and have been a tra­di­tional event for al­most 40 years.

The event on June 28 is to raise funds for Ham­pers of Hope, a Chris­tian char­ity es­tab­lished in Oc­to­ber 2011 for the re­lief of poverty through the pro­vi­sion of emer­gency food sup­port.

The fol­low­ing event, which takes place on July 5, is in aid of 1st Prest­bury Scouts, with the Women’s In­sti­tute be­ing the cause on July 12. On July 19, the Clar­i­tas Choir will per­form in aid of East Cheshire Hos­pice.

Other events are also pre­ceded by a short free con­cert in the church which fin­ishes at ap­prox­i­mately 3.45pm.

Con­cert-go­ers can en­joy tea af­ter­wards.

There are con­certs on July 19, July 26, Au­gust 9, Au­gust 16, Au­gust 23, Au­gust 30, Septem­ber 6 and Septem­ber 13.

Ev­ery­one is welcome to at­tend the events, which will usu­ally fea­ture a tombola or a raf­fle with prizes. ●● PLAN­NING per­mis­sion has been granted for the de­mo­li­tion of an ex­ist­ing dwelling and con­struc­tion of a re­place­ment one at Stone Cot­tage, 14 Sum­mer­hill Road, Prest­bury.
