School serves up Wimbledon treats at annual summer fair
MOTTRAM St Andrew Primary Academy on Priest Lane are having a Wimbledon themed Summer Fair this year.
Visitors will be able to test their ball skills by taking part in tennis games run by a professional tennis coach on Friday, June 26 from 3.15pm.
Wimbledon just wouldn’t be the same without the strawberries and cream so visitors will also be able to enjoy the tournament’s traditional refreshment as well as other sweet treats including ice creams, squash and lemonade.
There will be a variety of stalls as well as tombolas, tattoos, a bouncy castle, outdoor games, nail painting and face art.
Children can also enjoy fairground rides, hook a duck games and more. There will be a raffle too with the chance to win an iPad mini.
A vintage tea party will be held with tea and specially made homemade cakes provided by The Tea Alchemist in Alderley Edge.
This will run alongside the school fair’s usual bar for the adults serving beer, wine, seasonal Pimms and barbecued treats.
Mrs Christine Bowen, headteacher, said: “We welcome all visitors to what promises to be a great afternoon.”
The Academy are also holding an open day on Thursday, July 9 between 10am and 11.30am or 1.30pm and 3pm.
