School’s dance day raised funds for cancer charity
BEECH Hall pupils dressed up as their favourite heroes for a charity Dress Up and Dance Day.
Children from preschool age to Year 9 took part in the Macmillan Cancer Support day and made a donation to the charity in return for the privilege of dressing up.
Everyone, including the headteacher Geraldine Yandell, then took part in a mass Zumba session run by local Zumba teacher Carla Gilder.
Nichola Lindsay, the school’s marketing manager, said: “There were some fantastic outfits but if awards were to be given out it would have to have gone to Mrs Galina Morrell and Mrs Hannah Tait, our pre-school teachers, for their wonderful Abba outfits – they were truly superb!”
Year 3 pupil Ariarna Gordon said: “Everyone had a great time and even the teachers were joining in – including Mrs Yandell.
“When ‘Let It Go’ from Frozen came on all the infants started to sing.
“Everyone had a brilliant time.”
The children, teachers and staff raised around £150 for the charity.
