Radio

Macclesfield Express - - MACCLESFIELD PEOPLE -

FOR a little community radio station we certainly believe we punch above our weight with the quality of the shows that we broadcast.

Have you heard the recent interviews that we have had with stars of both TV and radio?

Nick Wright interviewed famous DJ Tony Blackburn, who talked about his career and helped raise the profile of electric cars in the area. Rebecca Done interviewed Sunny Ormonde, who if you weren’t aware, plays the part of Lilian Bellamy in the long running radio soap The Archers.

Sunny was promoting an event that had been organised by the Macclesfield and District Live at Home Scheme on June 28, at which she was appearing and proved to be a huge success.

Of course we don’t just interview well-known people – we also invite into our studios people from local community groups who wish to raise the profile of their organisations or an event they are running to raise funds.

Our outside events team is busy supporting local groups in their fundraising efforts. Look out for Simon Leah and Brian Moores at the opening of the Bollington well dressing week, Nick Wright at the Whirley School fair and Mark Eeles at the Puss Bank School fair – all on July 4.
