Hola! to Spanish students
CHILDREN at Fallibroome Academy have made some new amigos as a result of a school exchange programme.
The school hosted 36 students from the Escola Sant Gervasi High School, near Barcelona for a week as part of an exchange programme run by Poynton-based company Home to Home.
Their Catalan friends were each assigned a ‘Fal- libroome buddy’ and attended the full range of lessons and have experienced a presentation with children’s author Joseph Delaney.
They even had a special ‘Catalan Invitation Race’ at the school sports day.
Director of teaching and learning for modern foreign languages, Jon Comyn, said: “Their visit has been a great success.
“And it’s created a real buzz around the school, which is great for language learning and creating international friendships.” Fallibroome is hoping to organise a return trip to Escola Sant Gervasi next year, to renew the friendships that have blossomed throughout the week.
Susana Boldú, from the Spanish school, said: “They’ve lived a fantastic experience and met caring mates in an excellent environment. Thank you all for this great week.”
