CAB volunteers thanked for selfless support
MACCLESFIELD MP David Rutley has thanked staff and volunteers at Macclesfield Citizens Advice Bureau for providing residents with the advice and support they need to solve their problems.
At an event in Parliament, Mr Rutley met people from across the Citizens Advice service and got invaluable insight into the problems experienced by constituents in Macclesfield.
Mr Rutley said: “Macclesfield Citizens Advice Bureau does a great job in helping people solve their challenge.
“I’m keen to continue working closely with Citizens Advice to make sure people get access to the help they need.
“Volunteers are the bedrock of the Citizens Advice service. I’d like to thank the people in and around Macclesfield who give up their own time to help others and recognise their contribution to our local community.”
The Citizens Advice Bureau provides free con- fidential and impartial advice to people in Macclesfield face-to-face and over the telephone.
Common issues reported to the local Citizens Advice include queries about benefits, debt problems, employment and housing.
Citizens Advice chief executive, Gillian Guy, said: “The right advice and support can transform lives. We’re pleased to work with MPs to help them solve problems and address local and national issues.”
