CAB vol­un­teers thanked for self­less sup­port

MAC­CLES­FIELD MP David Rut­ley has thanked staff and vol­un­teers at Mac­cles­field Cit­i­zens Ad­vice Bureau for pro­vid­ing res­i­dents with the ad­vice and sup­port they need to solve their prob­lems.

At an event in Par­lia­ment, Mr Rut­ley met peo­ple from across the Cit­i­zens Ad­vice ser­vice and got in­valu­able in­sight into the prob­lems ex­pe­ri­enced by con­stituents in Mac­cles­field.

Mr Rut­ley said: “Mac­cles­field Cit­i­zens Ad­vice Bureau does a great job in help­ing peo­ple solve their chal­lenge.

“I’m keen to con­tinue work­ing closely with Cit­i­zens Ad­vice to make sure peo­ple get ac­cess to the help they need.

“Vol­un­teers are the bedrock of the Cit­i­zens Ad­vice ser­vice. I’d like to thank the peo­ple in and around Mac­cles­field who give up their own time to help oth­ers and recog­nise their con­tri­bu­tion to our lo­cal com­mu­nity.”

The Cit­i­zens Ad­vice Bureau pro­vides free con- fi­den­tial and im­par­tial ad­vice to peo­ple in Mac­cles­field face-to-face and over the tele­phone.

Com­mon is­sues re­ported to the lo­cal Cit­i­zens Ad­vice in­clude queries about ben­e­fits, debt prob­lems, em­ploy­ment and hous­ing.

Cit­i­zens Ad­vice chief ex­ec­u­tive, Gil­lian Guy, said: “The right ad­vice and sup­port can trans­form lives. We’re pleased to work with MPs to help them solve prob­lems and ad­dress lo­cal and na­tional is­sues.”
