Residents dance away at jazz party
RESIDENTS at Prestbury House Care Home enjoyed an indoor beach party as part of the National Care Home Open Day.
The party was open to the community too, with residents and visitors entertained by the Saints and Sinners Jazz Band as they showed off their moves on the dance floor.
Children from Kids Allowed at Tytherington Business Park also attended the event, dancing, laughing and singing with the residents. And even a Macclesfield Fire Station crew let their hair down and joined in the fun.
Residents enjoyed a glass of wine and tasty nibbles as well as ice cream from Mr Whippy’s van.
There was also a selection of hotdogs and burgers which they enjoyed between sing- a-longs and dancing.
Michelle Walton, leisure and wellness co-ordinator, said: “One resident, Bob Hoban, sang his heart out and danced the afternoon away with us.
“At the end he had tears of joy in his eyes and said ‘thank you very much for making my day’.”
Raffle prizes were donated by Toni and Guy, Tatton Park, Arighi Bianchi, Bacchus Restaurant, Super Bowl, and Morrisons. All money raised will be donated to the residents’ activity funds and Age UK.
