Campey leads the field home at Mottram
MEDAL action at Mottram saw Paul Campey lead in with 68 from Simon Lowndes 69 and Stock Mirza and Jon Hodgson, both 71.
A singles Stableford at Shrigley Hall has Sreve Wells in charge with 41 points from Peter Will 39 and Roderick Scott 37.
A Wednesday Stableford at Styal was won by Gavin Jamieson with 38 points, one more than Joseph Wee and Hassan Jafari.
Styal seniors were also in medal mode with Kevin Bocquet racing home with 42 points from Harry Wilks 40 and Alan Burns, Terry Hooper and Colin Fellowes all with 39.
The Stableford action continued for Styal ladies with Jeny Merren showing her class with 38 points to finish ahead of Gayle Blackburn 38 and Caroline George 35.
Macclesfield ladies played an EWGA medal which was also their MDLGA Bunty Booth qualifier and representing the club next year will be Alycia Sutton who romped to victory with a stunning 65 from Sue Lawton 72 and Judy Mutter 73.
In an over 70s competition over 11 holes Myra Clark won after a cpo on 18 points with Pat Burrows.
The Kordian Order of Merit latest positions for Macc ladies sees Judy Mutter setting the pace with 95 points from Jill Higgins 93 and Myra Clark 84.
There were mixed results for Macc ladies in the East Cheshire League with the B team losing 5-2 at Sandiway but the Plate team triumphed by the same margin hosting Heyrose.
The Centenary Trophy at Alderley Edge was won by Julie Ricketts with 39 points two more than D Lee and Tommy Lawton.
Medal action for Davenport’s men had Jon Camm as the main man with his 67 seeing him home from Peter Burrows 68 and Malcolm Sandford and Anthony Dyke both 69.
Davenport ladies played over two rounds for the Lady Captain’s Prize and in round one the early pace was set by Jane Houlker with 68 from Barbara Oliver 72.
In round two Lynda Jones was first past the post with 69, one less than Pauline Wellerman.
But it was close in the finish with Barbara Oliver winning a cpo on 144 from Jane Houlkner with Pauline Hall next in on 147.
Prestbury’s men played round one of the Founders Trophy and in a tight finish Marcus Barrow won a cpo on 68 from Stewart Davies with Alan Farrer and John Ogden hot on their heels with 69.
A Singles Grannies Stableford for Prestbury ladies had Cheshire senior star Gill Mellor well clear in division one with 35 points from Linda Buckley 33.
Barbara Newport topped division two with 37 points from Penny Smith and Maura Delany, both 35 and in the subsidiary nine-hole Stableford Anne Parker was top of the shop with 12 points.
