Staying fit target for Rowe
MACCLESFIELD midfielder Danny Rowe admits his main concern ahead of the new National League season is staying injury-free.
The 23-year-old committed his future to the Silkmen for another year after signing a new deal with the club earlier this summer.
Rowe has struggled with injuries in the past, and he is keen to ensure he keeps his fitness up over the coming weeks.
“I’ve got to be careful with injuries. The main thing is staying fit so I’ve been doing a lot outside of football to do that and make sure I don’t pull any injuries, that’s the most important thing,” he said.
“It’s just about getting in everyday and working hard to build up my fitness for the start of the season.
“Everyone’s in the same boat. We’ve got a few players on trial so we’ve got to have a look at them as well.
“There’s a few that have half a chance but nobody has really stood out yet because it is still early days.
“I’m sure we’ve got a good set of lads still though and it’s good to be back training with the squad.
“You don’t worry too much about the squad in these pre-season games as the main thing you’re working on is what the gaffer wants to see throughout the season.”
Rowe re-joined the Silkmen from A.F.C. Fylde at the beginning of 2015, making 15 appearances as he helped the team push for the play-offs during the closing stages of the last campaign.
