Grand day out in store at Chrome event

UP to 1,000 spec­ta­tors and play­ers are ex­pected when 16 of the top Un­der 11 ju­nior teams in the North West bat­tle it out in the Chrome in the Com­mu­nity Soc­cer Tour­na­ment on Satur­day.

Among them will be for­mer Manch­ester United star Gor­don Hill, who will act as guest of hon­our at the event, which kicks off at 11am at Beech Lane play­ing fields op­po­site the Chrome Mo­tors show­room.

Those in at­tan­dance will have the op­por­tu­nity to en­ter a free draw with a great prize on of­fer – a VIP pack­age at Manch­ester City – which will be drawn on the day.

The event proved a huge hit last year and Chrome owner Danny Towns is ex­pect­ing another fun-fu­elled day this time around.

“The event is held to re-in­state a soc­cer event for kids in the sum­mer, cou­pled with an open day for Chrome.

“We in­vite 16 lo­cal teams to com­pete in a tour­na­ment man­aged by Chrome in con­junc­tion with Football in the Com­mu­nity from MTFC.”

The 16 teams tak­ing part come from a va­ri­ety of clubs in­clud­ing: Mac­cles­field Tigers, Mac­cles­field Boys, Chea­dle and Gat­ley, Fletcher Moss Rangers, Con­gle­ton Yel­lows, Lis­bon, Tyther­ing­ton Celtics, Mac­cles­field Lions, Bolling­ton Viceroys, Vale Ju­niors, Shots and Rich­mond Rovers

Through­out the day there will be a live broad­cast from Canal­side The Thread, bouncy castle and kids en­ter­tain­ment, BBQ and re­fresh­ments.

It’s a free to at­tend event and all teams are in­vited at no cost to the clubs – Chrome Mo­tors host the event and cover the cost­ings.
