Macclesfield Express - - CHARITY ROUND-UP -

AN events management student is putting her organisational skills to the test by getting involved in a charity event on her home turf.

Nadia Jackson, from Macclesfield, has been on a full time work placement at Marie Curie since August 2014.

Now she has been invited to get involved with the Walk to Remember event at Tatton Park, a 10k walk around Tatton to raise money for the charity.

Nadia, a student at Sheffield Hallam University, said: “I’m looking forward to getting involved on the day and using my skills and knowledge from my university course to make it a fantastic day for people walking in memory of their loved ones.”

Community fundraiser for Macclesfield Jessica Herrington said: “Last year it was so moving to see so many families, friends and loved ones join together for Marie Curie. The walkers raised over £40,000 in sponsorship in 2014, which helped us provide 2,000 hours of nursing care.”

This year’s event takes place on Saturday, August 8, at 6.30pm.
