Student Daniel takes his soccer talent Stateside
A TEENAGE soccer sensation has won a scholarship to study and play football in America.
Daniel Booth, 18, has just finished his A-levels at Poynton High School.
Although he is waiting for his results, Daniel has secured a spot at Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia.
Daniel, who lives in Poynton, will travel to the States and play for the Bison soccer team in August.
Celebrating his achievement David Waugh, head teacher at Poynton High School, said: “This is absolutely fantastic news and is recognition of Daniel’s dedication to both his football and his academic studies.
“We are so very proud of his success and wish him all the best for his time in America, it is a wonderful opportunity.”
Daniel will study and play in West Virginia for the next four years.
He achieved the scholarship through the assistance of PASS4Soccer Scholarships.
Daniel won the scholarship in recognition of his academic achievements and his athletic ability which was showcased during trials in December.
