Man with in­de­cent im­ages avoids jail

A MAN has walked free from court af­ter he was found with more than 8,000 in­de­cent im­ages of chil­dren.

Adam Hugh Clarke, 50, of Lowes Lane, Gawsworth, ad­mit­ted eight charges in­clud­ing one of pos­ses­sion of in­de­cent pho­to­graphs of chil­dren, three charges of mak­ing in­de­cent pho­to­graphs of chil­dren, and one of tak­ing in­de­cent pho­to­graphs of chil­dren.

He also pleaded guilty to one charge of pos­ses­sion of a pro­hib­ited im­age of a child, one charge of pos­ses­sion of four ex­treme im­ages in­volv­ing an­i­mal pornog­ra­phy.

The fi­nal charge Clarke ad­mit­ted was film­ing some­one hav­ing sex with­out their con­sent.

The of­fences took place be­tween 2008 and 2015.

Clarke was found in pos­ses­sion of 8,444 in­de­cent pho­to­graphs of chil­dren. Of these 623 im­ages were cat­e­gory A, the most ex­treme, 867 im­ages were cat­e­gory B, which cover non­pen­e­tra­tive sex­ual ac­tiv­ity, and 6,954 of the im­ages were cat­e­gory C cov­er­ing other in­de­cent im­ages.

At Ch­ester Crown Court Clarke was sen­tenced to 18 months in jail sus­pended for two years. He must also sign onto the Sex Of­fend­ers Register for 10 years.
