Join our appeal to help tragedy victims

Macclesfield Express - - BOSLEY TRAGEDY -

MORE than 160 businesses have signed up to our Bring a Pound to Work appeal for the Bosley explosion.

The Express has joined forces with Silk 106.9 to encourage workers to dig deep for those affected by the Bosley blast in a special campaign today.

Employees from at least 160 firms will donate money to be added to a fund set up by the Bosley community after the disaster.

Gareth Tidman, Express editor, said: “The tragedy of Bosley has touched the very heart of our community and the local response has been fantastic.

“This is an excellent way that we can all play our part in helping the victims.”

A team from Silk FM will visit participating businesses today from 6am to 6pm to collect donations and there will be live updates on the radio.

David Flavell, from Silk FM, said: “We’ve had a great response, with all shapes and sizes of businesses signing up to take part.

“Today is the big day, we hope people will bring as much as they can so we can raise as much money as possible.”

The registration page on the Silk 106.9 website remains open for businesses to join in.
