Steer cycling strategy in the right direction
HELP ensure Macclesfield is as safe as possible for cyclists by getting involved with the council’s cycling consultation.
Cheshire East Council has launched its draft cycling strategy which looks at potential cycling routes, improving bike facilities within the town and promoting the benefits of cycling.
Now they are looking for feedback and are keen to hear from everyone, whether you ride for occasional leisure or regularly as part of a commute, or if you don’t ride but would like to start.
Councillor David Brown, deputy leader and Cabinet member for highways, said: “We’ve put a lot of work into this draft cycling strategy and it’s important we get people’s views on it.
“As a council we are committed to helping our residents live well and for longer, as well as making Cheshire East a green and sustainable place to live.”
The survey, which will take about five minutes to complete, can be done online at www. cheshireeast.gov.uk/ cycleconsultation.
Paper copies are also available from Macclesfield Library and the town hall.
The consultation runs until September 14.
