4,000 pints is toast to festival success
ALE fans drank nearly 4,000 pints at another successful Bollington Beer Festival.
Each of the three sessions over the two-day event was sold out and revellers got through nearly all of the 44 casks of beer, as well as 500 pints of cider which gave a grand total of 3,880 pints through the weekend.
There was live music and food at the event which took place at Bollington Arts Centre.
It was the fourth annual event and the committee has already set a date for next year’s event.
Lee Wainwright from Bollington Brewing Company is one of the spon- sors. He runs the brewery and The Vale Inn with wife Kirsten.
Lee said: “It was a very successful event. We had beers from all over the country.
“There was a fantastic atmosphere, with the samba band on the Friday and more bands on the Saturday.
“It’s a great social event for Bollington.”
The festival raises money for community groups and charities who make bids to the committee.
Lee said: “We can help groups which may not be able to get funding in other ways. It’s a great way of helping people in Bollington.”
