●● PREST­BURY Parish Coun­cil is to hold its next meet­ing on Wed­nes­day, 5 Au­gust.

The Plan­ning Sub-com­mit­tee meet­ing will be held at 9.30am in the Coun­cil Cham­ber, above the li­brary and Royal Bank of Scot­land build­ing.

All mem­bers of the public are welcome to at­tend. ●● DIN­ERS at Bac­chus Res­tau­rant and Cham­pagne bar are set to be ser­e­naded over din­ner.

Paul Leff will be pro­vid­ing a soft back­drop to the New Road venue on Au­gust 6, with Char­lotte Day tak­ing the role on Au­gust 13.

Both start singing at 8pm as part of Bac­chus’ on­go­ing mu­sic evenings. ●● A PLAN­NING ap­pli­ca­tion has been lodged to turn an un­used unit at the Co-op­er­a­tive store on New Road into a phys­io­ther­a­pists.

The plan has been lodged with Cheshire East Coun­cil by Mac­cles­field based John Grif­fiths Phys­io­ther­a­pists.

The cen­tre would em­ploy two full time and six part time em­ploy­ees and be open from 7am to 8.30pm.

Res­i­dents have un­til Au­gust 26 to sub­mit com­ments, with a de­ci­sion ex­pected to be made on Septem­ber 18. ●● PREST­BURY golf club is set to host the Prest­bury Open.

The event, to run on Fri­day 5 Au­gust, is open to all male golfers who are mem­bers of recog­nised golf clubs with a hand­i­cap of no more than five.

The Open is a 36-hole com­pe­ti­tion.

There is an en­trance fee of £35, which in­cludes a sand­wich and soup lunch.

There will be a song recital by Sharon Davies (so­prano) Lily Brace­gir­dle (con­tralto) and Mark Brace­gir­dle (bari­tone) on Sun­day, Au­gust 9.
