CCTV ap­peal af­ter at­tack on train

TRANS­PORT po­lice have is­sued CCTV im­ages af­ter a con­duc­tor was at­tacked on a train be­tween Manch­ester and Mac­cles­field.

The vic­tim was shoved aside by a pas­sen­ger when she asked for his ticket.

The as­sault took place on the 1.27pm Cross­Coun­try ser­vice from Manch­ester Pic­cadilly as the train pulled into Mac­cles­field sta­tion at 1.45pm on Satur­day, Au­gust 1.

PC David Lawren­son, in­ves­ti­gat­ing of­fi­cer with Bri­tish Trans­port Po­lice said: “As the train doors opened the man barged past the staff mem­ber, knock­ing into her and push­ing her aside to leave the train.

“Her col­league had to grab hold of her to stop her from fall­ing onto the plat­form.”
