Pub scoops Trip Advisor award
THE Butley Ash pub in Butley has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor after consistently receiving highly recommended reviews.
The Chef & Brewer pub on London Road has received an average of four stars from over 170 guest reviews.
The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor.
Only around 10 percent of venues listed on the site receive the prestigious award.
When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12 month period as well as the business’s tenure and ranking on the popularity index on the site.
To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and have been listed on the site for at least 12 months.
David Cornshaw, general manager of the Butley Ash, which prides itself on ‘a warm and cosy atmosphere with great quality pub dishes, served with the occasional twist’, said: “We are thrilled to receive the Certificate of Excellence.
“The whole team live and breathe the value of putting the guest at the heart of everything we do and this recognition clearly demonstrates that it is working and is providing guests with experiences they want to share with others.”
Marc Charron President of TripAdvisor for Business, said: “TripAdvisor is pleased to honour exceptional hospitality businesses that have received consistent praise and recognition by travellers on the site.
“By putting a spotlight on businesses focused on delivering great service, TripAdvisor not only helps drive increasing hospitality standards around the world, it gives businesses both large and small the ability to shine and stand out from the competition.”
