●● CHESHIRE East Council is consulting on possible alterations to the junctions of the A523 London Road with Bonis Hall Lane and Well Lane in Prestbury.

These proposals form part of the wider Poynton Relief Road/ Bypass scheme which the council hopes to bring to the planning application stage in February. A ‘preferred route’ across the former British Aerospace site was announced for the north-south Poynton Relief Road last December, with the southern end of the road proposed as an ‘off-line roundabout’ with entry and exit arms onto the northbound and southbound London Road and a link to Adlington Golf Centre. The northern end of the road would connect to the east-west A6 to Manchester Airport Road, currently under construction, at a new roundabout near the Bramhall Oil Terminal.
