Girl hospitalis­ed after collision

A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl was seriously injured after a collision involving two cars.

It is believed the girl was taking items out of a parked car when a second car crashed into it.

A spokesman from Cheshire Police said: “At 5.33pm on Sunday, August 23, emergency services attended a collision on Chester Road, Macclesfie­ld near to Bargain Booze.

“A Skoda Fabia travelling along Chester Road had been in collision with a Seat Leon which was stationary.

“As the collision occurred a nine-year-old girl was getting items out of the car.

“The girl received serious injuries and was taken to Manchester Children’s Hospital.”

The child has been discharged from hospital and is now recovering at home.
