TAL­ENT SHOW

FOR­MER drug ad­dicts from Mac­cles­field will hold a tal­ent show on Septem­ber 5 at 12 noon at St Michael’s Church.

The “Re­cov­ery Has Tal­ent” show fea­tures singers, dancers, a bouncy castle, penalty shootout and more. Funds will be part do­nated to the Bosley vic­tims and fam­i­lies and to Friends for Leisure, a char­ity help­ing young dis­abled peo­ple.

RO­TARY CLUB

MAC­CLES­FIELD Ro­tary Club will host a nos­tal­gia evening at the Se­nior Citizen’s Hall on Duke Street on Fri­day, Septem­ber 4.

There will be a dis­play of old pho­to­graphs and an il­lus­trated talk by his­to­rian Ian Storer. At­ten­dees can share their own mem­o­ries and re­fresh­ments will be served. The event starts at 7.30pm. Tick­ets are £5 and avail­able from Mac­cles­field Ro­tar­i­ans or from Ian Storer on 01625 432070. A lim­ited num­ber are avail­able on the door.

PUB CIN­EMA

A DOC­U­MEN­TARY that ‘digs un­der­neath’ world news sto­ries to re­veal how peo­ple of dif­fer­ent re­li­gious faiths and so­cial groups come to­gether in a cri­sis will be screened at the Park Tav­ern on Park Lane.

Film­maker Vel­crow Rip­per’s ‘Oc­cupy Love’ forms part of the pub’s Pic­tures In The Park ‘cinevan­ge­list’ se­ries, for films out­side the main­stream.

The screen­ing will take place on Mon­day, Au­gust 31 at 8pm and is free, with do­na­tions to the pro­ducer grate­fully ac­cepted.
