De­men­tia talk will give sup­port for suf­fer­ers

COM­MU­NITY care vil­lage Be­long Mac­cles­field will be host­ing its latest Talk De­men­tia drop-in ses­sion on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 24.

The monthly ses­sions of­fer the public a chance to ac­cess in­for­ma­tion on de­men­tia sup­port and ser­vices, dis­cuss car­ing is­sues and gain ad­vice from men­tal health pro­fes­sion­als.

The event is free to at­tend and will be hosted by Ad­mi­ral nurse Caro­line Clifton, who works at Be­long Mac­cles­field in part­ner­ship with De­men­tia UK, and Be­long de­men­tia cham­pion, Rachael Ward.

Ad­mi­ral nurses are men­tal health nurses who spe­cialise in de­men­tia, seek­ing to im­prove the qual­ity of life for peo­ple af­fected by de­men­tia.

The event will be held from 2pm to 4pm at the Be­long Mac­cles­field site on Kennedy Av­enue.

Another Talk De­men­tia ses­sion will take place on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 15 be­tween the same times.
