Brave soles take on fire­walk

A BRAVE group of 19 vol­un­teers bared their soles to walk across burn­ing coals for char­ity.

They took on the fire walk chal­lenge at the Bull’s Head pub in Bro­ken Cross.

The event, which in­cluded a raf­fle and bar­be­cue, raised more than £3,000 for Lit­tle He­roes Can­cer Trust, a char­ity which sup­ports chil­dren with can­cer.

The 19 fire walk he­roes in­cluded De­bra Jack­son, Lloyd Dich­field, Joe Street, Daniel Fla­herty, John Cooney, Zoe Old­ham and Will Perry.

Pa­trick Good­fel­low, Ian Beard­more, Claire Sweeney, Daniel Beard­more, Garry Jes­sop, Ai­den Jes­sop also did their bit, while Aly­cia Sut­ton, Rachael Birds, Deyan Smith, El­liott Cocker, Mark Alexan­der, and Re­becca St­eff were the last to run over the sear­ing coals.

Scott Larsen, land­lord of the Bull’s Head, said: “I’m proud to be serv­ing this com­mu­nity. They made the event a mas­sive suc­cess and I would like to thank ev­ery­one for their sup­port as it couldn’t have hap­pened with­out you. Now to plan for the next event and hope we re­ceive just as much sup­port next time.”

Raf­fle do­na­tions came from the Bro­ken Cross Club, Mac­cles­field Rugby Club, Mac­cles­field Cricket Club, Mac­cles­field Town FC and Shal­i­mar.
