Brave soles take on firewalk
A BRAVE group of 19 volunteers bared their soles to walk across burning coals for charity.
They took on the fire walk challenge at the Bull’s Head pub in Broken Cross.
The event, which included a raffle and barbecue, raised more than £3,000 for Little Heroes Cancer Trust, a charity which supports children with cancer.
The 19 fire walk heroes included Debra Jackson, Lloyd Dichfield, Joe Street, Daniel Flaherty, John Cooney, Zoe Oldham and Will Perry.
Patrick Goodfellow, Ian Beardmore, Claire Sweeney, Daniel Beardmore, Garry Jessop, Aiden Jessop also did their bit, while Alycia Sutton, Rachael Birds, Deyan Smith, Elliott Cocker, Mark Alexander, and Rebecca Steff were the last to run over the searing coals.
Scott Larsen, landlord of the Bull’s Head, said: “I’m proud to be serving this community. They made the event a massive success and I would like to thank everyone for their support as it couldn’t have happened without you. Now to plan for the next event and hope we receive just as much support next time.”
Raffle donations came from the Broken Cross Club, Macclesfield Rugby Club, Macclesfield Cricket Club, Macclesfield Town FC and Shalimar.
