THE Welsh Cowbridge Male Voice Choir will give a charity performance at Tytherington Family Worship Church on Sandwich Drive on Saturday, September 19 at 7.30pm.

Founded in 1971, the choir is based in the Vale of Glamorgan but has also performed abroad, with foreign concerts including Northern Cyprus in 2013 and Normandy this year.

The group boasts a broad repertoire of music including classical Welsh choral pieces, medleys from musicals and popular hits such as Bohemian Rhapsody, California Dreaming and You Raise Me Up.

The concert is in aid of Christian Relief Uganda, the charity set up by Rhona Marshall MBE, from Tytherington.

All funds raised will go to Maria’s Care School, an orphanage in Uganda, and to other vulnerable people in the country.

Val Sillivan, who works in the church office, said: “This will be their first time performing at the church.

“If you haven’t heard them before you should, they sound just unbelievable and it’s all for a very good cause.”

Tickets are £10, with a discount for groups of four, at £36.
