●● ANSON Engine Museum is to open for free as part of the Heritage Open Days programme.
Exhibits tell the story of the development of engine power, from steam engines, through the key developments in the internal combustion engine, to a new W12 Bentley engine.
There is also a giant scale model of Poynton showing how the village looked around 1900.
It opens this Friday, September 11 from 10am to 5pm. Visit www.engine museum.org for info. ●● A NEW voluntary group is being formed to increase awareness about hearing loss.
The group also wants to promote the installation and proper maintenance of hearing loops in Poynton.
An awareness event took place at the Civic Hall on Friday, September 4.
