New boy Fitz is eager to get going
NEW Macclesfield Town signing David Fitzpatrick is looking forward to getting into the swing of things again after joining the club.
The former Southport defender has found it tough trying to find a new team after he was a free agent throughout the summer.
He has now committed his future to the Silkmen, and he is looking forward to plying his trade at the Moss Rose.
“It took over a week to get the deal done so it seemed like it has dragged but I’m happy to get it over the line and I can start concentrating on playing football now,” he said.
“This summer has been quieter than I thought it would be but Macclesfield showed an interest so I came down to train and I enjoyed it.
“I knew all the squad already so it was easy to fit in.
“I like how the club is run and it’s a lot more professional than I’m used to so I can’t wait to get going.”
Two players have left Macclesfield though, with Will Boyle returning to parent club Huddersfield Town and John Marsden leaving for Colwyn Bay.
Boyle didn’t make an appearance for Macc, while Marsden played on just two occasions.
