Rogue gar­den­ers con woman out of £350

A WOMAN with­drew £350 from the bank to pay for sub­stan­dard work by rogue gar­den­ers.

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing af­ter the in­ci­dent on Fri­day, Septem­ber 4.

Two men wear­ing dark cloth­ing car­ried out some gar­den­ing work for a lady who lives on Bollinbarn Drive, Mac­cles­field.

They then charged £350 for the ‘sub-stan­dard’ work, and drove the vic­tim to the bank to with­draw the money.

Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for any­one who saw two men act­ing sus­pi­ciously in the are or re­ceived a sim­i­lar re­quest for work.

A po­lice spokesman said: “Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for in­for­ma­tion fol­low­ing an in­ci­dent of rogue gar­den­ers in Mac­cles­field.

“On Fri­day 4 Septem­ber, at ap­prox­i­mately mid­day, two un­known men went to the vic­tim’s home at Bollinbarn Drive, Mac­cles­field. Once at the ad­dress the two men have com­pleted some sub­stan­dard gar­den­ing work and charged the oc­cu­pant £350. They then drove the fe­male vic­tim to the bank to with­draw the money.”
