Florist’s display is bright and fun
PRESTBURY flowerclub returned after the summer recess with a truly stunning demonstration.
National demonstrator Neil Whittaker represented the country among 26 other countries at the demonstration World Championships and, after heats to go through to this final, was runner up.
He has won the British championship twice and the Interflora championship three times where Interflora sponsor the competitors to thousands of pounds worth of flowers.
Lesley Stafford, from the club, said: “He wowed his enthralled audience at Prestbury flowerclub.
“Cleverly he maintained a sunny colour scheme of yellow, orange and red throughout so his finale stage set was completely co-ordinated and a breath taking sight. His hand tied arrangement done on a felt square was duly noted by the ladies as something original to, try this at home!”
Prestbury’s schedule continues on Wednesday, October 7, with Jackie Walker and “Structures with style”.
Visitors are welcome for £5 at the village hall Prestbury.
In keeping with the flowerclub’s hands on tradition the October meeting will include the Westbrook competition, title Harvest Gold, ladies take inspiration from Neil’s colours. Also there will be an all day workshop on Thursday, November 5, costing £20 with Nigel Whyles featuring two arrangements which may last for the Christmas season.
On Wednesday, December 2, Jonathon Moseley will be taking the Christmas demonstration with “Crafted for Christmas”.
This is a demonstration open to the public and costs £8.50 at Macclesfield Academy.
Guests are urged to arrive early as the sales table will feature hand made Christmas wreaths for the door which will soon sell out.
