Florist’s dis­play is bright and fun

PREST­BURY flow­er­club re­turned af­ter the sum­mer re­cess with a truly stun­ning demon­stra­tion.

Na­tional demon­stra­tor Neil Whit­taker rep­re­sented the coun­try among 26 other coun­tries at the demon­stra­tion World Cham­pi­onships and, af­ter heats to go through to this fi­nal, was run­ner up.

He has won the Bri­tish cham­pi­onship twice and the In­ter­flora cham­pi­onship three times where In­ter­flora spon­sor the com­peti­tors to thou­sands of pounds worth of flow­ers.

Lesley Stafford, from the club, said: “He wowed his en­thralled au­di­ence at Prest­bury flow­er­club.

“Clev­erly he main­tained a sunny colour scheme of yel­low, or­ange and red through­out so his fi­nale stage set was com­pletely co-or­di­nated and a breath tak­ing sight. His hand tied ar­range­ment done on a felt square was duly noted by the ladies as some­thing orig­i­nal to, try this at home!”

Prest­bury’s sched­ule con­tin­ues on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 7, with Jackie Walker and “Struc­tures with style”.

Visi­tors are welcome for £5 at the vil­lage hall Prest­bury.

In keep­ing with the flow­er­club’s hands on tra­di­tion the Oc­to­ber meet­ing will in­clude the West­brook com­pe­ti­tion, ti­tle Harvest Gold, ladies take in­spi­ra­tion from Neil’s colours. Also there will be an all day work­shop on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 5, cost­ing £20 with Nigel Whyles fea­tur­ing two ar­range­ments which may last for the Christ­mas sea­son.

On Wed­nes­day, De­cem­ber 2, Jonathon Mose­ley will be tak­ing the Christ­mas demon­stra­tion with “Crafted for Christ­mas”.

This is a demon­stra­tion open to the public and costs £8.50 at Mac­cles­field Academy.

Guests are urged to ar­rive early as the sales ta­ble will fea­ture hand made Christ­mas wreaths for the door which will soon sell out.
