Name of event: Quilt Art at 30: Small Talk. Where / when is it?: The Silk Museum on Park Lane until Saturday, October 31. What does it involve?: The exhibition takes the quilt as its starting point but the exhibition challenges the way quilts are traditionally viewed and embodied. The pieces in the exhibition explore a range of techniques. While the media of quilting has long been confined to needle and thread, members of the group experiment with paint, dye and print, unusual materials and three dimensions, while others explore the latest technologies with digitally programmed embroidery and photographic techniques, each bringing their own personality to the pieces.
Who is it suitable for?:
Everyone. Any other information?: Open Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm. £2 entry. Want to find out more?: Call 01625 613 210 or visit the website www. silkmacclesfield.org.uk for further details.
