U13s see off Sandbach

ANOTHER fine day at Moss Farm Recre­ation ground saw mixed re­sults in matches played Mac­cles­field Ladies FC U15s, U13s, U13 Sylks and U9s.

The U13s en­joyed a com­fort­able 2-0 vic­tory over Sandbach.

The first half was a com­pet­i­tive af­fair with Mac­cles­field dom­i­nat­ing pos­ses­sion but un­able to break the Sandbach de­fence.

The sec­ond pe­riod saw some ex­cel­lent pass­ing and move­ment with Han­nah Booth break­ing the dead­lock for Macc and Annabel Cross scor­ing the sec­ond.

The U13s Sylks came up against close ri­vals Lymm Hawks, in a clash of the top two placed teams in last sea­son’s league.

The first half was a com­pet­i­tive af­fair, with Mac­cles­field hav­ing the bet­ter pos­ses­sion, but un­able to make it count.

Mac­cles­field dom­i­nate pos­ses­sion against af­ter the break but a con­tro­ver­sial de­ci­sion robbed them of a de­served draw with Lymm scor­ing a last-minute win­ner.

The youngest mem­bers of Mac­cles­field Ladies, the U9s, came up against Mid­dlewich.

A suc­cess­ful and en­joy­able morn­ing’s work saw all the goals scored by Libby Do­ran, with the as­sists com­ing from Ta­tiana Pol­lard.

Any­one in­ter­ested in play­ing football for Mac­cles­field Ladies can turn up to train­ing on Mon­days 7-8pm and Wed­nes­days 6-7pm at Mac­cles­field Academy all weather pitch.
