THIS week­end’s op­po­nents Bore­ham Wood are play­ing in the Na­tional League for the first time af­ter win­ning the Na­tional League South play-offs last sea­son.

IT will be the first time in history that Mac­cles­field have played Bore­ham Wood in a com­pet­i­tive fix­ture.

THEY were founded in 1948 af­ter the amal­ga­ma­tion of two lo­cal sides, Bore­ham Rovers and Royal Re­tournez.

THEY are man­aged by for­mer Ar­se­nal winger Ian Allinson, who spent four years with the Gun­ners from 1983 to 1987.

THE team plays their home matches at the 4,500 ca­pac­ity Meadow Park, with 1,400 of those be­ing seated.

AHEAD of Tues­day’s fix­tures, Bore­ham Wood sat 20th in the Na­tional League ta­ble, hav­ing won three, drawn one and lost nine of their open­ing 13 matches.

THEIR match last Satur­day saw them suf­fer a 1-0 de­feat at home to fel­low strug­glers Al­trin­cham.
