Macc v Boreham Wood (Sat, 3pm)
THIS weekend’s opponents Boreham Wood are playing in the National League for the first time after winning the National League South play-offs last season.
IT will be the first time in history that Macclesfield have played Boreham Wood in a competitive fixture.
THEY were founded in 1948 after the amalgamation of two local sides, Boreham Rovers and Royal Retournez.
THEY are managed by former Arsenal winger Ian Allinson, who spent four years with the Gunners from 1983 to 1987.
THE team plays their home matches at the 4,500 capacity Meadow Park, with 1,400 of those being seated.
AHEAD of Tuesday’s fixtures, Boreham Wood sat 20th in the National League table, having won three, drawn one and lost nine of their opening 13 matches.
THEIR match last Saturday saw them suffer a 1-0 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Altrincham.
