STRUCK BY TRAIN

A WOMAN was taken to hospi­tal af­ter be­ing hit by a train at Adling­ton sta­tion.

Emer­gency crews at­tended af­ter the 53-year-old woman was struck on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 28.

She was taken to Wythen­shawe Hospi­tal with se­ri­ous leg in­juries.

A spokesman for Bri­tish Trans­port Po­lice said: “Our of­fi­cers were called to Adling­ton sta­tion, Mac­cles­field, at around 6.30pm fol­low­ing re­ports of a per­son be­ing struck by a train.

“Col­leagues from the North West Am­bu­lance Ser­vice, Cheshire Po­lice and Cheshire Fire and Res­cue also at­tended and a 53-yearold woman was re­moved from the tracks.”

Pas­sen­gers faced de­lays af­ter trains were can­celled but ser­vices re­sumed at around 8.30pm.
