The Saf­fron Room launches Prest­bury restau­rant

OPEN­ING to the pub­lic on Novem­ber 5, The Saf­fron Room is all set to bring its very own take on In­dian fine din­ing to Prest­bury.

Fol­low­ing the suc­cess­ful open­ing of their Manch­ester restau­rant ear­lier this year, the team be­hind the The Saf­fron Room are look­ing for­ward to ex­pand­ing their reach with the new and ex­clu­sive In­dian restau­rant based in Prest­bury’s vil­lage.

With over 20 years of ex­pe­ri­ence in the hos­pi­tal­ity industry, restau­ra­teur Sanaam Ahamed has built the per­fect team for his restau­rant, bring­ing in a top chef from In­dia and head­hunt­ing the finest chefs from across Cheshire. He said: “Peo­ple will be given the op­por­tu­nity to em­brace new dishes that are not widely avail­able. The Saf­fron Room will of­fer In­dian fu­sion food and tra­di­tional cui­sine side by side.”

As well as tra­di­tional cur­ries, such as Ko­rma, Dhansak and Jal­frezi, the restau­rant’s menu will fea­ture a se­lec­tion of un­usual dishes and ex­ten­sive fish and meat op­tions. It is com­prised of In­dian dishes of the high­est or­der, in­clud­ing cus­tomer favourites and a se­lec­tion of ex­cit­ing flavour com­bi­na­tions.

Fish dishes in­clude creme de la cin­na­mon seabass, monk­fish lightly spiced with garam masala and served with a light sauce and co­rian­der, and the feisty lal jal snap­per, which com­bines the pop­u­lar western fish with a unique mix of east­ern spices. The Saf­fron Room sig­na­ture dishes in­clude the South In­dian murghi balti, Tan­doori chicken with minced lamb and balti spices, and the ex­otic gar­lic masala, which is bar­be­cued chicken tikka served in gar­lic masala sauce.

The restau­rant is also proud to be the first in Cheshire to of­fer a range of Haandi dishes.

Based on tra­di­tional South In­dian recipes, th­ese dishes are pre­pared fol­low­ing tra­di­tional cus­toms in­clud­ing mar­i­nat­ing in del­i­cate herbs and spices and then cooked in a sealed clay pot over a slow burn­ing flame.

But it’s not just the food that is sure to im­press. Sanaam has cho­sen to work closely with Moët Hen­nessy for the drinks se­lec­tion. Staff have been trained by Moët Hen­nessy mixol­ogy spe­cial­ists to en­sure that ev­ery clas­sic cock­tail is avail­able as well as some very spe­cial new ones too.

The restau­rant will seat 70 peo­ple in com­fort with a pri­vate din­ing room for up to 50 peo­ple up­stairs, ac­ces­si­ble from its own pri­vate en­trance.
