The Saffron Room launches Prestbury restaurant
OPENING to the public on November 5, The Saffron Room is all set to bring its very own take on Indian fine dining to Prestbury.
Following the successful opening of their Manchester restaurant earlier this year, the team behind the The Saffron Room are looking forward to expanding their reach with the new and exclusive Indian restaurant based in Prestbury’s village.
With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, restaurateur Sanaam Ahamed has built the perfect team for his restaurant, bringing in a top chef from India and headhunting the finest chefs from across Cheshire. He said: “People will be given the opportunity to embrace new dishes that are not widely available. The Saffron Room will offer Indian fusion food and traditional cuisine side by side.”
As well as traditional curries, such as Korma, Dhansak and Jalfrezi, the restaurant’s menu will feature a selection of unusual dishes and extensive fish and meat options. It is comprised of Indian dishes of the highest order, including customer favourites and a selection of exciting flavour combinations.
Fish dishes include creme de la cinnamon seabass, monkfish lightly spiced with garam masala and served with a light sauce and coriander, and the feisty lal jal snapper, which combines the popular western fish with a unique mix of eastern spices. The Saffron Room signature dishes include the South Indian murghi balti, Tandoori chicken with minced lamb and balti spices, and the exotic garlic masala, which is barbecued chicken tikka served in garlic masala sauce.
The restaurant is also proud to be the first in Cheshire to offer a range of Haandi dishes.
Based on traditional South Indian recipes, these dishes are prepared following traditional customs including marinating in delicate herbs and spices and then cooked in a sealed clay pot over a slow burning flame.
But it’s not just the food that is sure to impress. Sanaam has chosen to work closely with Moët Hennessy for the drinks selection. Staff have been trained by Moët Hennessy mixology specialists to ensure that every classic cocktail is available as well as some very special new ones too.
The restaurant will seat 70 people in comfort with a private dining room for up to 50 people upstairs, accessible from its own private entrance.
Plus, it’s not too late to book your Christmas meal at The Saffron Room. For groups of more than 10, the restaurant is offering the host of the meal a dining voucher for two to be redeemed in the New Year.
