Butcher cuts it as amateur snapper

AMYSTERY amateur photographer whose pictures have been an online hit has been revealed as a butcher from Sutton.

Chris Heapy, 24, spends his day slicing and dicing meat at Lane Ends Farm Shop in the village.

He also earns a crust with a gardening and landscaping business.

But before and after work Chris can be found gallivanting around the Macclesfield countryside capturing the landscape in all its glory.

He began sharing his work on the Macclesfield Express Facebook page two years ago, and now regularly clocks up thousands of ‘likes’ on the social networking site.

Chris, who is married to Samantha, said: “I started messing about with photography three years ago after investing in a little digital SLR camera.

“Over time it has gone from a hobby, to a passion, to an obsession.

“I work two jobs, as a butcher and with my own gardening business, but every spare moment I get, even if it means getting up very early, you will find me in the countryside taking pictures.

“It’s a scary thing to start sharing your work with the wider public.

“I decided to contact the Express after my family and friends encouraged me. The feedback I get from people really helps me improve.”
