School fights can­cer with cake

A PRI­MARY school raised cash to help those with can­cer.

Staff at Ver­non Pri­mary School in Poyn­ton joined thou­sands of other around the coun­try in stag­ing a Macmil­lan cof­fee morn­ing to show their sup­port for the char­ity.

Teach­ers, teach­ing as­sis­tants and of­fice staff en­joyed lots of home­made cakes and sweet treats.

Macmil­lan aims to make sure no one faces can­cer alone by pro­vid­ing med­i­cal, emo­tional, prac­ti­cal and financial sup­port.

Claire Mor­gan from the school said: “So far they have raised £145 but will con­tinue adding to this to­tal in or­der to en­hance the work of this worth­while cause.”
