Radio Canalside 102.8FM

Macclesfield Express - - MACCLESFIELD PEOPLE -

WE have recently received the equipment which will allow us to set up our fifth studio at Canalside.

With two studios available to do live broadcasts and four that can be used to pre-record shows and interviews, we believe we have what must be one of the best set-ups of any community radio station in the country.

We must say a big thank you to two of our marvellous volunteers, Simon Leah and Mark Blackman, who have devoted many hours of their time installing and testing the kit and making sure our volunteer presenters are familiar with how it operates. Being a community project we rely on volunteers to carry out important tasks for us and a special mention goes out to Philippa Barnett and Trish Napier who populate the What’s On guide on our website www.thethread.org.uk.

The guide features more than 500 events at any one time, ranging from jumble sales at a local village hall to amateur sports games in the local area and also includes events that take place just outside our broadcasting area. If you would like an event you are organising featured on the website and mentioned on air, simply complete the event submission form at the bottom of each page of What’s On. Brian Moores
