Au­tumn fair a suc­cess for chapel funds

THE team be­hind a char­ity au­tumn fair have said it was a great suc­cess.

Mem­bers from Lan­g­ley Methodist Chapel or­gan­ised the an­nual au­tumn fair for the com­mu­nity.

It was held to raise money for chapel funds and also for a va­ri­ety of char­i­ties which the chapel sup­ports through the year.

The com­mit­tee has said the event was a great suc­cess, rais­ing around £700 for the causes.

Stalls at the event in­cluded a va­ri­ety of goods in­clud­ing crafts, bric-a-brac, cakes, books, chil­dren’s toys, hand­bags and jew­ellery.

Re­fresh­ments were served in the morn­ing, as well as lunches.

There was also a demon­stra­tion of Scot­tish danc­ing by the Lan­g­ley Scot­tish Danc­ing Group, with bag­pipe so­los.

Bar­rie McQuinn, from the church, said: “Ad­mis­sion to the event was free and ev­ery­one from the com­mu­nity was wel­come.

“There was around £700 raised for chapel funds and char­i­ties that we sup­port through­out the year.

“In ad­di­tion to the usual stalls there was an ex­cel­lent demon­stra­tion of Scot­tish danc­ing with a cou­ple of bag pipe so­los.

“It was a very suc­cess­ful event.”

The chapel is look­ing for­ward to an­other event com­ing up when Mac­cles­field Male Voice Choir will per­form a Christ­mas Con­cert.

The con­cert will take place on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 4 at 7pm at Lan­g­ley Methodist Chapel.

Tick­ets cost £7 which in­cludes tea or cof­fee and bis­cuits.
