Funeral held for mill victim William
THE funeral of a victim of the Bosley mill disaster has taken place.
William Barks, 51, from Leek in Staffordshire, was one of four people who died in the explosion at Wood Treatment Ltd on July 17.
The service for Mr Barks took place at St Edward’s Church in the village of Cheddleton last Thursday, November 12.
Mr Barks leaves his wife of 31 years, Deborah, son Liam and mother Pearl, sister Tina and brother Kelvin.
An inquest into his death was opened in October, at which coroner for Cheshire Nicholas Rheinberg said Mr Barks died from the effects of explosion and fire at the site.
The blast caused a four-storey building to collapse.
William, Dorothy Bailey, 62, and Derek Moore, 62, from Stoke, were killed. The body of Jason Shingler, 38, from North Rode, has still not been recovered.
Police and fire service search teams and crime scene investigators continue their painstaking work at the site.
Meanwhile fundraisers continue to use the Help Bosley campaign to help the families of those killed and injured, and those who lost jobs and homes.
