Teenage girls still in hos­pi­tal more than a month af­ter hor­ror crash

A TEENAGE girl re­mains se­ri­ously ill in hos­pi­tal more than a month af­ter a hor­ror crash at a no­to­ri­ous accident blackspot.

A black Vaux­hall Corsa driven by a 17-year-old man col­lided with a wall on the Bux­ton Old Road be­fore flip­ping onto its roof at around 10.50pm on Oc­to­ber 11.

It had been trav­el­ling from Tegg’s Nose in the di­rec­tion of Mac­cles­field when the in­ci­dent occurred.

Two of the pas­sen­gers, both 16-year-old girls from Mac­cles­field, sus­tained sig­nif­i­cant in­juries.

Hannah Ditcham, a pupil at Fal­li­b­roome Acad­emy, is cur­rently be­ing treated at Sal­ford Royal Hos­pi­tal, a trauma cen­tre spe­cial­is­ing in head in­juries.

She is in a stable con­di­tion but is se­ri­ously ill.

The other girl, whose name has not been re­leased, is be­ing treated at Manch­ester Royal In­fir­mary. Her con­di­tion is im­prov­ing steadily.

The driver and a third pas­sen­ger – a 16-year-old girl from Mac­cles­field – suf­fered mi­nor in­juries.

Po­lice have con­firmed that they have made no ar­rests fol­low­ing the accident.

Wit­nesses are urged to con­tact Cheshire po­lice on 101, quot­ing in­ci­dent 978 of 11 Oc­to­ber.
