Town cen­tre on agenda as busi­ness break­fasts re­vived

THE town’s busi­ness fo­rum has re­vived its pop­u­lar break­fast meet­ings, with the fu­ture of the town cen­tre scheme among the first things on the agenda.

Make it Mac­cles­field (MIM) was set up to sup­port the com­mu­nity and pro­vide a fo­rum for the town’s busi­nesses to share ideas and pro­mote the town.

The break­fast meet­ings re­turn on Fri­day, Novem­ber 20, start­ing at 8am in the Town Hall As­sem­bly Room with break­fast rolls, tea and cof­fee avail­able from 7.30am.

Mike Rance, vice chair­man of MIM, said: “Fol­low­ing the de­ci­sion not to progress the con­tro­ver­sial Wil­son Bo­den scheme, a broadly-based Stake­holder Panel has been con­sid­er­ing the fu­ture of the town and we’re now poised to find out what might in store for us on both Duke Street and Churchill Way.”

The meet­ing will in­clude a pre­sen­ta­tion from the Stake­holder Panel as well as a chance to hear from the Town Coun­cil and Mac­cles­field MP David Rut­ley.

There’ll also be a pre­sen­ta­tion about an new Mac­cles­field-fo­cused ini­tia­tive from MIM.
