Town centre on agenda as business breakfasts revived
THE town’s business forum has revived its popular breakfast meetings, with the future of the town centre scheme among the first things on the agenda.
Make it Macclesfield (MIM) was set up to support the community and provide a forum for the town’s businesses to share ideas and promote the town.
The breakfast meetings return on Friday, November 20, starting at 8am in the Town Hall Assembly Room with breakfast rolls, tea and coffee available from 7.30am.
Mike Rance, vice chairman of MIM, said: “Following the decision not to progress the controversial Wilson Boden scheme, a broadly-based Stakeholder Panel has been considering the future of the town and we’re now poised to find out what might in store for us on both Duke Street and Churchill Way.”
The meeting will include a presentation from the Stakeholder Panel as well as a chance to hear from the Town Council and Macclesfield MP David Rutley.
There’ll also be a presentation about an new Macclesfield-focused initiative from MIM.
