Butchers collections are welcome boost to hospice coffers
A BUTCHER has raised more than £4,000 for the hospice from collections in the shop.
A J Boons butchers in Chelford has presented a cheque for the amount raised in their collection box for East Cheshire Hospice, which needs thousands of pounds each day to care for patients from Macclesfield and around the area.
The hospice has said how important collection boxes in shops and other organisations are, raising more than £20,000 a year.
Lisa Ball, fundraising assistant, said: “We currently have over 500 collection boxes across East Cheshire in a variety of different locations from hairdressers, to butchers, to pubs and pet shops. Our collection boxes can hold anywhere between £25 and £70.
“A J Boons Butchers started supporting East Cheshire Hospice in 2006 and are great supporters.
“Our collection boxes are a really convenient way for members of our community to donate, and they are a great way to raise awareness for the hospice in your local area. Our aim is to place as many out in the community as possible.”
